Seems that the numbers are not working for Darcy Burner.
From Darcy Burner:
"It is likely at this point that Congressman Reichert has won re-election, and while we will certainly ensure that every valid vote is counted, we accept the decision of the voters."I would like to thank the thousands of people who put so much time and effort into the campaign, as well as the countless thousands more who went beyond voting to actively participate in our democratic process this year. The election of Barack Obama as our new President will ensure that the change to the direction of our country called for in this campaign is realized in the new year."
Sad.
I wish she would have stayed with it a little longer. I believe there are still a lot and I mean a lot of votes left to count.
I also believe this "loss" may be partly doe to people only voting for Obama, then maybe Gregoire. I saw and heard way to many people not complete their ballots. They wanted to vote for Obama and that was it.
New voters that are low info voters can be BAD voters.
We need to change this. We need to wake people up to the fact that even Barack Obama NEEDS us to complete the ballot so that he can have "more and better Democrats" to work with.
Why did I not know about this site? How many of you knew about this new Obama/Biden site?

I am sorry this is such a short diary, but I just had to pass along some FABULOUS pictures of Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and Wes Clark.
The only problem I have is that I can not figure out how to embed this slide show into the diary. Please see the UPDATE below.
So here is a link that takes you to so GREAT Pictures!

Ok.... well... not yet... but HOPEfully? Maybe? :)
I just responded to the latest email from Barack Obama with another donation.
In this email, he states that I could be one of the lucky ones to be with him on Election night in Chicago. Being a previous donor, I just had to donate one more time to get my name in the running.
I am not sure if the odds for winning are better or worse then the WA state Lotto, but... oh well, I did it anyways.
So what do you think? Do I have a chance?
I could be one of the "elite" jet setters flying off to Chicago on a whim, staying in a swanky Chicago hotel (motel 6?) and hopefully... meeting Barack Obama! (It does not actually say that. I think it might be a little difficult meeting the "president elect"!)
It amazes me how the repugs keep trying to say that they are the party of the "little people" and the middle class when they are actually the exact opposite.
Now joe (the whatever) thinks HE is qualified to run for Congress! He must LOVE palin!
Joe the Plumber' Considers Run for CongressSamuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, known on the presidential campaign trail as 'Joe the Plumber,' considers a run for 'Joe the Congressman'
....Wurzelbacher said the notion of running for Congress just came up on Friday, and no party officials have contacted him. He hasn't made any decisions.
"That is something I'm going to think about and make a decision," he said. "Somebody's got to really think about that, because you're going to serve the people. You're not serving yourself doing that, you're serving the people."
The incumbent in Wurzelbacher's Ohio congressional district is longtime Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a Democrat.
"I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight," Wurzelbacher said told Laura Ingraham on her talk show Friday, "but, you know, I'd be up for it."

Oh My....
Delusions of grander?
"Hey mom look at me... I Am Joe The... now what am I ... I am Sam I Am... Hey everyone Look At Me! If palin can do it, then so can I!"
Not much of a diary, but I always like to pass on good info.
The following came in an email today.
Dear ...,Hillary sure has been busy lately! After a weekend campaigning in California and Texas, Hillary went to New York to speak at the eighth annual Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee luncheon. Speaking to a packed room, Hillary called this a turning point election - and reminded us what it might feel like November 5th if we fall short. Hillary reminded everyone what is at stake in this election, especially for women, and how important it is we do everything we can to elect Barack Obama and Joe Biden this fall.
more below... I think you will like the videos.
I have not been active on the blogs lately, but I did want to pass on this little nugget I just found at RCP.

Springsteen, Joel team up for Obama
The Associated PressRock stars Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel are teaming up for their first joint concert to benefit Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
Obama plans to attend the concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Oct. 16, the day after Obama's final debate
...Seeing the two superstars together won't come cheap. Tickets start at $500 and range up to $10,000.
I guess this is a good team up. I know many people who like one or the other but usually not both, so this may help to attract a wider audience. Maybe your experience is different.
I just saw that Obama is supposed to appear on Saturday Night Live. Normally I would say GREAT! With this hurricane fast approaching, I think Obama needs to just say no.
OR briefly go on with no comedy or music, talk about helping others that are in need right now, ask for Red Cross donations (put a web address on the screen), talk briefly about service and how the audience and the viewers can help serve by helping out now.
Then he should say that he must leave now, so that he may monitor the situation and help marshall his supporters and the American people to help.
He could also do this via video or a sat link.
By the way...
Just the other day, a Red Cross representative said that responding to the floods and hurricanes as put the Red Cross into a $70 million HOLE!
